Purchased in the market in Moscow in 1991, just prior to the attempt to oust Gorbachev and Yeltsin. My research is primarily concerned with compressible flow, combustion, explosion and detonation of gaseous and condensed energetic materials. Much of this research is experimental work carried out in the Explosion Dynamics Laboratory, the GALCIT 6-inch shock tube and T5. Computational activities include numerical modeling of detonation and application of detailed chemical reaction mechanisms to the prediction of explosion hazards and blast effects. Related activities include the resonant response of structures to blast and shock loading.
