To get to Caltech, looked at the maps linked on the previous page to
reach the 210 freeway in Pasadena. Get off on Hill Street and go south past
6 stoplights until you reach California Blvd. Go west (right turn) on
California. At this point, Caltech is on your right, the north side of the
street. Go to the middle of block, just west (100 feet) of the stoplight to
Arden Road and turn left into the parking lot just after you reach the
crosswalk stop light. If you go as far as Wilson Street, you missed the
parking lot. Purchase a permit from the vending machine and park in the underground structure south of California Blvd.
If there is no space available, try the adjacent aboveground lot just north of Tournament park, the lot on Lura Street
or the parking structures on Wilson or Holliston. Sometimes you can even park on
the surrounding streets but take care about the restrictions on duration, days of the week, phase of the moon, etc.
Note on parking As of fall 2005, all vehicles on the Caltech campus
must display a purchased parking permit, including visitors! Tickets will
not be forgiven, fines are handled by the City of Pasadena. Information about the parking regulations
can be found here.
Follow the
map
to reach my office in room 306E
in Guggenheim. This is located on the 3rd floor of Guggenheim.
From the parking lots on the south side of California Blvd, walk
north across California and proceed to the Guggenheim Building.
Enter Guggenheim through the main doors on the North side of
building. Go up the stairs to the 3rd floor. Walk east down the
main hallway, turn right (south) into the side corridor about 5 m
east of the top of the stairs. Go through the door to 306 and enter my
office at your immediate left. An alternative for those who
cannot climb stairs is to go east to the Firestone building (there is
a ramp entrance at the east end) and ride the elevator to the third
floor. As you move west in Firestone on the third floor, you will enter
Guggenheim.
