Abstract-
Presented are statistics of the mixed velocity-passive scalar field in quasi-isotropic decaying grid turbulence with an imposed mean scalar gradient. The Reynolds number dependence of the mixed statistics is considered along with their consistency with the notion of local isotropy. Particular emphasis is placed on the third-order mixed structure function, the behavior of which is governed by Yaglom's equation. Deviations from this theoretical prediction are accounted for by means of a generalized Yaglom's equation. The latter includes the effect of the non-stationarity of the turbulent scalar fluctuations and their production by the mean scalar gradient. The experimental data supports the generalized equation.
