RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:
Professor Kim has pioneered in developing numerical simulations
as a reliable research tool for studying transitional and turbulent flows.
His interest includes development of efficient numerical algorithms for
large-scale scientific computations, investigation of flow physics of
turbulent flows, development of control algorithms for viscous drag reduction.
He has been recognized through NASA Exceptional Scientific Achievement
Medal (1985), Fellow of American Physical Society (1989), and H. Julien
Allen Award from NASA Ames Research Center (1994). He is currently
serving as Editor of Physics of Fluids.
