Rapid Evaporation
Evaporation wave moving downward into superheated liquid dodecane.Photograph by Jose Simoes Moreira Experiments have been carried out at Caltech and RPI on the possibility of producing complete evaporation waves in superheated liquids. Using dodecane as the working fluid, we able to obtain up to 90% vapor phase downstream of the wave.
